A friend of mine, my old guitar person from a music shop I frequent, has left his job to do other work. A good move, and a good friend, mind you. He knew what I like in music and instruments and I always knew that when he approached me in the shop holding a guitar by the neck in both hands that it was something I would be interested in. I usually left with it. Anyway, some years ago he had sold a Fender Tele Desert Sand Baja to a co-worker who just didn't bond with it and brought it back to the store. I bought it and it became my #1 for quite a few years. He always was talking about how he never should have sold it and how he really loved the tone as well. I didn't tell him I had it. Wonderful, wonderful tone! Amazing guitar! Anyway, as I was thinning the herd a couple of weeks ago (health issues, as people here know and not wanting to leave things for Mrs idjster to deal with if things go further south) I donated the bulk of my equipment to a charity I support, for them to sell or keep as they see fit. All but the few that I continue to play, and the Baja. Last week when he came by I gifted it back to him, and he was just blown away! I've had my fun with it and, truly, he's a far, far better musician than I am. I'm not posting this to blow my own horn, just to say that kindness is the thing that we need to make this world a better place and, truly, I've learned with my health issues and this pandemic, that things aren't anywhere near as important as people! And it's a happy story. Be kind! Stay safe! That is all.
