I'd love to hang out with George Harrison. Seems to have been just a lovely guy.

Would love to chat about guitars, things he's seen, and gardening.

He is one of my 2 favorite rock guitarists, the other being Mick Ronson. Such enviable tone.

Funny-ish "Spinal Tap" articles about May being hospitalized after tearing a muscle in his booty while gardening. That would be a great drinking story.

I had a beer with Les Paul at the Iridium in NYC some time ago.

Link Wray is my favorite guitar player. I've seen him live twice and watched/read lots of interviews, and as much as I'd like to have a drink with him, I'd really like to chat with his brother Vernon. I think I'd get a whole different view on what went on. And I really like his album, Wasted.

I wouldn't want to talk about guitars.

They may not want to talk about it, but I'd love to talk ' Steely Dan guitar' ( first 2 albums) with Jeff Baxter and Denny Dias. Love them!

Edit: I was supposed to meet Jeff Baxter at a friend's Birthday Party Ventures show in Alexandria ( mutual friend, a band friend of mine, and DOD friend of Jeff's)- but Jeff couldn't make it.

Plenty, but for now I'll just say Gina Gleason.

    Oh, and Jordan Cook.

I’m thinking someone like GE Smith, Mike Campbell or Jim Weider. All are exceptional players who’ve played with lots of interesting folks and they all appear to be down to earth guys who’d be easy to chat with. Oh, they also all have spent some time with a Tele strapped on!

    First thought... my Dad.

He didn't drink (I don't either), so it would probably be iced tea, but yeah, Dad. He died in 1989, a month before my 36th birthday, so if that meeting could happen, we might not even get around to talking guitar. But he's the reason I took up the guitar in the first place, so then again, probably so.

Of living guitarists, Phil Keaggy, then Tim Lerch.

How about Jorma Kaukonen, to hear about that whole Haight-Ashbury scene?
