This is absolutely gorgeous!
I so much want to build a strat! But I've got two complete restorations on my bench, a P bass build for a friend that I've been working off and on for a year and a half, and 2013's tele challenge build yet to finish(waiting on warm weather to lay down the rest of the finish). Besides that, I've got a design I've been working on that I'd really like to build. Gonna be a while.
Look at the first post of this thread.. almost 2 years ago. Just keep doing it no matter how slow you go, you won't regreat it.
I'm still working on these!
I made a 50's style pickguard today
It should all be over soon..
Melo, great work! I really, really like the white one.
Thanks you! Tha white one is just the one I've ever wanted. I just love it.
They are awesome!!!
I can literally almost taste those, they're so gorgeous!
Hope we get some sound clips...
Those are absolutely beautiful. I love both of the colors. It just doesn't get much better than this!! I too hope that you will post sound clips because I'm sure that you nailed that also.
Incredible work, melomanarock!
Would you mind sharing your technique for those incredible armrest curves? They look so incredibly... fluid, for lack of a better word.
Again, simply gorgeous guitars!
Sure, I just did it the old way on the belt sander. See here from 2:32
The difference is I only have a benchtop belt sander so I lay it on the side and clamp it to the workbench.
The arm rest contour is really important to me because I hate the ones made with sharp transitions.
I know what you mean.
I've also used my belt sander vertically clamped on the workbench. I guess I'll give it a shot when the time comes and hope it's tall enough to do the trick.
Thanks for bringing that video up again, I just can't get enough of it!
Great work! That surf green is just stunning.
Well I just finished the 2nd strat, came out really nice. The finish is really thin and jumps at the slightets bump, this one will get reliced naturally in no time.
Here are some pics, hope you like it.
Merry Christmas everybody!!
Merry Christmas meloman , superb job on that strat , simply superb !
Wow. Very nice!
You are the man! Merry Christmas. Beautiful Strats!
That green is amazing.
