Gettin' stinko on a Sudbury Saturday night!
And watching the Leafs trying to win without shooting at the Canadiens' net! Oh wait! They just tied it up!
I am much more of a Forty Creek fan than Crown. It's currently my favorite whiskey to date (not that I've tried many)
40 Creek Copper Pot here.
Beans and potatoes man here. I haven't had a drink in nineteen years, but I can still taste that first straight shot of Jack Daniels at the end of the day, I would take a drink, swish it around a few times and slowly swallow it. Man, that's the one BIG downside to sobriety, you can't drink. Near beer? Now if they would invent near Jack that would be some invention.
After that "certain amount", I call it snake poison.
Maybe the story wasn't picked up in Quebec, but it was big news in Rest Of Canada: Crown Royal’s Northern Harvest Rye named World Whisky of the Year 2016
It really has been flying off the shelves. My local provincial liquor store has a sign up that says the entire province is sold out with not ETA for more.
No Bourbon is made in Canada.
Just get a case of Kokannee, LH.
And get one for me!
It was a big deal down this end of Canuckistan as well. Had a chance to try it several times over Xmas. Not bad. Still doesn't beat a good Scotch though.
One more thing:
Whiskey vs. whisky. Whisky usually denotes liquor from Scotland.
Plural of whiskey : whiskeys or whiskies
Plural of whisky: whiskies
My current fave is a Buillet Rye Whiskey I picked up around Christmas. Real nice. Might have to give that Crown a try, tho.
BTW, what is the deal with all these maple-flavored whiskeys?
One thing I do love about being Canadian is our Whisky...the Crown Royal Northern Harvest sold out quickly during the Christmas season at the LCBO on the strength of a single glowing review...nonetheless, we managed to snag a couple of bottles and it was good stuff...hit all the right notes.
I'm a big fan of Forty Creek, but I'm partial to their Three Grain variety over the Barrel Select. Or if you can get your hands on some Forty Creek Confederation Oak, then you're cookin' with oil my friend
Yeah, BDLH. I was waiting to see how long it would go before someone corrected me.
The next time I get up around Grimsby I'll pick some up. Thanks!
