My wife picked a ticket up for Bon Jovi from a friend. It's this Sunday. Yesterday, Richie Sambora leaves the tour after having a bad hair day fighting with Jon.
    WTF? Her ticket was $160!
Should there be a refund on something like this considering she's not getting what she paid for- ie the whole band?

    You get Phil X instead.

Say what you will about him, but he got some guitar chops.

If you bought them from Ticketmaster (or whoever originally sold the tickets, you may get a refund by calling them if you bought them with a credit card. If you bought them from a ticket "broker" you're probably out of luck.

Years ago I bought tickets to a Canadian National team basketball game. The ad stated Steve Nash would be playing. A week or two before the game, he decided not too, so I called them up and asked for a refund explaining I only wanted to go because Nash was playing. Surprisingly, they refunded my tickets. Just be nice about it, explain the situation, you never know.

You should get a refund if you want.

I hear Bobby Bandiera will be taking Sambora's place. That's an upgrade. The ticket's probably worth more than she paid now. ;)

They need to change the tour name to the "because he can't" instead of "because we can" tour.

I'd be surprised if the venue gave you a refund, but it doesn't hurt to call and complain and ask anyway. With smaller acts and smaller venues you usually find that the people answering the phone also help run the rest of the business, so they have more of a vested interest in keeping you happy, and have more authority to do so. With bigger acts and bigger venues the person you talk to, if you can talk to anyone, has very limited authority to do anything for you.

Bottom line is that you'd have to take a full refund and miss the show, they almost certainly won't give you a partial refund.

    Mid-80's.

They announce that Rod Stewart is doing a summer tour where Jeff Beck will open and do some tunes, Rod will come out and do some Jeff Beck Group stuff w/ him and then do his whole soccers balls and pink leg warmers routine w/ his own band.

3 shows in - Jeff Beck bails.

Right before they get to Pine Knob - which I bought a ticket for.

Took a chick and went anyway. It was alright.

Richie "Weird Touch-Up Plastic Surgery" Sambora vs Phil X ?

    C'mon.

Phil is smaller anyway so it leaves more room onstage for Jon "My hair is smaller but not my ego" Bon Jovi...

Your wife isn't likely going to see Richie Sambora. Do you think she'd be able to discern any difference in the performance?

Well yeah, she would. She's been married to a musician for 29 years.

Being married to a musician is only proof of a lot of tolerance. :p I'm not a Bon Jovi fan but they are professional musicians of long standing. There's really no reason to think whomever replaces Sambora will be lacking in any regard.

I think we're misunderstanding each other. What I meant is that yes, she would know the difference between Richie and Phil X- for the positive. I'd love to see Phil play live.

If you really want your money back, threaten to send them a pic of that Dikfir you shot off the back fence the other day. When they ask you what's a Dikfir, I'd say you pretty much have 'em where you want 'em.
