I was so happy with my MIM ceramics for nearly a decade. The internet is the devil.
bet these would sound great on some of that 6,000$ tonewood...
Assuming these are still on stock in 2035, these are going to be the gift that keeps on giving in guitar forums for years to come.
Over the top and bottom end and side to side providing unequaled balance and silky smooth tones close to a humbucker but delivering that chimey sweetness without the hum associated with all other single coils and they are waterproof to 100ft
I don't really have that much knowledge of different strat pickups, but they sounded really good to me in that demo.
Now if you're into the idea of $4000+ custom shop guitars (I'm not really into it), then what would be the point of sticking a set of pickups that cost $100-200?
Well, the pickup would have to do something differently, even if you can imagine a universe where the cost could relate to it. It’s so minor you can’t even decide the cost is for novelty. A new tone pot could easily make equal difference with just the fluctuation of the actual values within the tolerance.
There’s basically nothing left to do with an Alnico poled pickup that hasn’t been done, and these pickups in particular offer almost no change. The only reason to get them would be for the status symbol, but even then, the only people who know what they are will think you’re stupid.
