these still available?
Dang.....saw this too late! I'm still looking for an all-original 8502 if anyone happens to know of one available. Thanks!
8502 Neck. I had one of these and foolishly sold it. I loved mostly everything about the guitar except the weight. It weighed more like a les paul than a tele. Anyhow I picked up a set of pickups for a 8502 and am thinking of doing a build. That neck was the best production neck I ever had in my possession. Has anyone ever had a neck similar to an 850 reproduced? It's a long shot I know, but I don't think I will ever find a parted out one.
The two Fender USA maple board necks that are on their website can be bought direct now- they should be close but not cheap. If you ever come across a USA Nashville B-bender neck, that might be close too.
I have an 8502 if you are interested.
Must take advantage of the fact that this thread rears its head every so often. Here's some 8502 goodness for y'all:
Email sent. Thanks!
EDIT: An '03 white guard 8502 is on the way. Thanks, Larry!
It has arrived!
Looks very nice.
Thanks! It's practically identical to the last '03 8502 I had......one that I should have never sold.
I might be interested in those pickups. How do we get in touch?
Just got mine,a 2005 model,light one too (7.2 pounds).KILLER tele!
Nice one! Congrats!
Hi all! I'm new in this forum and also a (proud) owner of a 8502 since august 2007 (i bought her "brand new" in Palermo, Italy). I'm sad but, at this time, i've not pics of her to share.
My quest for you all is about the pu volume: since i've bought mine i've no change any setting (height of pu or any other) and I change several ampli but the bridge pu volume is much higher then the neck's one. It's the normal setting in all of the 8502 or you think that i must pull a little off the pu on the neck to increase the volume? Thanks a lot to all of you, from an italian clubber
It's quite simple to adjust the height of the pickups. Just use a phillips head screwdriver and adjust up or down to your preference. I would try raising up the neck pu a little and see how it sounds.
Thanks a lot, i think i can try. I'd like also to know if this is a factory setting because i don't want to modify the typical sound of this guitar, i really love her, and i want to avoid to pump/distorce the clean sound of the neck pu.
I too would consider an original 8502 if anyone is selling. I'd prefer a lighter-weight one.
Don't worry about the factory settings because each guitar and set of pickups can sound a little different. Generally, the higher (closer to the strings) you go, the hotter it will sound but shouldn't be distortion. There are some threads on TDPRI in the Just Pickups and other forums you can check out for more information on setting your pickup height but you ear is usually your best judge.
Here's an updated photo of my '03 with a Callaham bridgeplate and a blackguard with my new Dr. Z
Thanks a lot
