Hi Shorty Medlock, Tbh I never played it lol. I have a Princeton Reverb ll & a 1982 Super Champ that I played & never got around to the Deluxe Reverb ll. I was into the Fullerton Rivera amps at the time.

I don't have a black or silver DLX, but I do have a black Vibrolux Reverb. When I bought the Deluxe Reverb ll the seller demo'ed it & it sounded alittle brighter, sharper, crisper & more distinct than a black Vibrolux Reverb & not as rounded. I think probably due to its solid state rectifier vs the tube recifier. Hope this helps.

Due to the amps design & SS rec, it has a more strident attack. More " punchy " would be a good term. To me, that's a good thing.
