No, not what most folks remember. This song, and the album it was on, bring forth great memories of my life in my mid-twenties. I’ve experienced much good and bad in my life since, but this song helps me to remember who I was back then.

True story: I once wrote a song with T- Bone at the Four Seasons in Boston when he was in town to play at Passim when he had “The Criminal Under His Own Hat” out. He had a new acoustic that I was checking out and I started playing something I was working and I have a cassette of him suggesting chords and a bridge. It was really cool. I ran into him a few months later at Sound City when I was playing in LA and he asked me if I finished that song.
Flash forward 20 years later when he was doing a show in Somerville with Jim Keltner and Marc Ribot and I mentioned it and he had no earthly idea what I was talking about. Complete blank stare, To be fair, he has been part of writing and recording A LOT of great songs and mine was just one along the way. It meant a lot to me, anyway.
