NOT the hottest thing you can get out there for sure these days, but our supermarkets don't have these for good reason. Caught it on the internet, so I searched around some asian food stores until I found some.

Anyone here tried this crazy Korean Ramen yet?

    I had some.

It was right at my limit as far as heat, but pretty darn good!

Bought some for a pal of mine...
He loved it. Had some Kimchee on the side when he ate it.

    9000 SU? Is that correct?

Jalapenos are about that. I don't like madly hot food, but that's not what I'd call madly hot.

9000 on the Scoville scale is not hot. It's, at best, mildly seasoned.

Naga Jolokia, an Indian pepper can reach 1,041,427 Scoville units. No thanks. Charmin has a very low asbestos content and I would not want to set the house on fire...

Carolina Reapers run 1,569,300 Scolville. When I make Beef stew, I add half a cup of chopped Habenero and a teaspoon of reaper sauce or 1 and a half teaspoons of Scorpion Pepper sauce. With homemade chili, I use about 50% more. If the first bite or two doesn't make the sweat pop, it's a waste of time and effort.

If you're not accustomed to spicy food, the screaming occurs at both ends of the tube...

Just no! That stuff makes my clacker valve twitch just thinking about it. A bowl would burst the seals, and not in a good way at all!

We have this one in the house; it's widely marketed in Japan. innerwebz sez it's 2700SHU
It'll make my bald head sweat, but even my kids can eat it.

We throw some shredded cabbage in there and then stir in a scrambled egg.

[EDIT]Here's the link I used. It shows a full spectrum of hotness; you can choose where you want to start.

    Stunt food.

Hot stuff is waaaaaay more popular with men than women and interest in it goes up as you go farther up the age scale (geezers have fewer working taste buds than young folks)

Partly. The older I get I still feel cheated if my food doesn't have some kick. But I also have less need to prove anything to the universe. If the burn too far outweighs the savor, it ain't worth it. I want taste, not just burn.

I have no problem with spicy food going in. The hotter the better. It's the unfortunate reckoning the next day that is the issue.

I think the Carolina Reaper(or pepper X) has now gone north of 3,000,000 on the Scoville scale. One hot tamale!:) The wife uses Trinidad Scorpion pepper sauce when making black bean burgers, but not very much, mind, which can range anywhere from 500,000 to 1,400,000 scoville....Mama;)
