Morning, I wonder if you could help.

    I`ve recently `inherited` a `72 Thinline reissue, possibly 2010-2012, Serial MZ 2621904.

The neck is beyond repair, warped, bowed and a significant twist to boot. I think it was left standing in a very dry, warm spare room for years.

What am I looking for in terms of a replacement? U or C section? It`s 3 bolt seating arrangement by the look of it. Is there a specific type of neck for this model.

Forgive my ignorance I am totally new to Telecasters.

3-bolt (microtilt) necks were only used on a few 70's teles and their reissues (customs, deluxes, thinlines), so they are not as easy to find as regular tele 4-bolts. And converting a 4-bolt neck is a path you don't want to go down (all 4 holes are in different places to a 3-bolt, and the truss rod anchor is in the way on some 4-bolt necks). Fortunately Fender does a Thinline replacement neck and Stratosphere often has Thinline necks (often cheaper if it's a part-out) ...
