Cool amps , Obviously it needs to be serviced. Has a replaced speaker. I am not sure if it has the back panels or foot switch.

You have leverage because it has a changed speaker, possibly no back panels, and they just reissued it which sometimes can drop the value of old ones.

He has leverage because it's a brown Princeton !

If he was stuck at $1,000, I don't think I'd walk away but I'd def try to get it for $700-$800, If the panels are gone and the tranny's are all original. Most don't have their footswitches so that's moot.

They range from $800-$1800 on Reverb

If he wants YOU to make an offer, I always start low and say "Well, I'd feel comfortable paying X amount..." which leaves the door open for them to counter - or accept.

Congratulations! I have had my brown Princeton since about 1984. Every time I plug into it I smile and think to myself "...that is the coolest amp Fender ever made." I hope you are going to get a cap job and a grounded power cord sooner rather than later. Enjoy!

Now just do not be tempted to run it until it's fully serviced!

Parts Ordered! Now to find a piece of proper grill cloth. Are there any accurate reproductions.

Why would you change the grill cloth? Looks fine to me?

Don’t change the grill. Get rid of the wacky speaker with the aluminum dome . Unless it somehow sounds good.

I’d try cleaning that grill first. I’ve seen people use some type of warm water/soap solution on their vintage tolex and grills. Looks like it works good.

If your up for a speaker change I suggest a Jupiter 10SC. I’ve got one in my ‘64 6G2 and it’s lovely!
