Here's my latest parts build. a Custom '62 type. All Fender parts. I wanted essentially an AVRI 62 but with the modern radius and round lam board.

Fender American Original '60s neck. I think it's like the '64 profile but with bigger frets and 9.5 radius board. Beautifully dark rosewood. I rolled the edges, finished the nut and used bore oil on the board.
Fender American Vintage '62 pickups, bridge, saddles and USA with CTS electronics orange cap.
Fender Japan alder doublebound body FSR in Lake Placid Blue

Hangs together great and the '62 AVRI pickups are a real favourite of mine.

My dream Tele looks like that. I’ve been lusting after the AO 60s since it came out and your build looks every bit as good. Nice work! Bet it sounds amazing.

How many LPB/rosewood guitars do you have now? I'm not criticizing - that's my favorite combination. Let's see a group shot.

It does sound really great. I Just tried at low volumes for half an hour through my little THR10C. I can't crank at the moment because my wife is super-busy working all the time in the study. When I can't play much I build!

Ha - too many. Love it. I'll see what I can do some day. This one is a recycle of one of them not all new parts.

That's a beautiful guitar. The '62 Telecaster Custom RI pickups are among my favorites.

Thanks, yes those ‘62 pickups are great I don’t know why they don’t more attention. Not expensive either.

If anyone wants a 62 set, get ‘em soon. I’m seeing fewer of them being offered. They’re NOS and Fender doesn’t make them any more.

Have wondered about that. They seemed to be available enough. When did they stop making them? That bridge pickup is terrific.

I seems like they stopped making them when they discontinued the '62 AVRI Custom Telecaster. Fender must have overproduced the pickups, as resellers and dealers bought a lot from Fender. The individual pickups are still available, but the bridge pickup and bridge assembly is getting scarce. I got mine from Darren Riley for around $52.00 and that's a great value.

Beautiful as usual, but I thought you were trying to get rid of guitars.

I built something almost identical to yours. However, I used a Musikraft neck instead.

This Lake Placid Blue is a little different. It is a touch paler than regular LPB when put side by side with my '64 AVRI LPB. Fender call it "Old Lake Placid Blue". Sorry, I should have noted that in the original post) Fender did it as an FSR in 2015 through Fender Japan.
