"The Tree" is well-known in luthier circles. I'm surprised there's any of that wood left.

If you think $6,000 is steep for the back and sides up there what do you all think of these? $1.6 million each is the price. I've played all of these instruments and they are very nice. I'll leave it at that...lol.

It's so human that they cut the tree down and then spent a decade trying to figure out a way to get it out of the forest.

is that certified "tone wood"? for that kinda mony I want documentation. I want diamond inlays, I want pickups wound with solid gold wire, I want a bridge of solid silver and I'd like the neck to be made of a abit of planking from the deck of the Titanic.

I mean why go half way?

The backstory of "The Tree" made me roll my eyes a little bit. I was half expecting this guy to be mentioned.

    I actually don't like it.
I have made instruments from totaly over the top quilted birds-eye maple, and found the results had as much class as some nuevo rich kitch bathroom laminated furniture.
This looks like some naff bit of brown furniture my Great-aunt might have owned.

Such perfection may be "exclusive", but it is totally lacking in sympathetic organic character.

"An unfortunate twist of fate for this small team of loggers, this accident would, nevertheless, prove fortuitous for The Tree"

    not really. The tree died.
