6-Saddle Tele. Low E string saddle is sitting on the bridge screw. Does my intonation look correct?

This is a Nashville Deluxe Tele. I owned one a few months ago and seemed to have a similar issue as well, but it had an issue with the truss rod so I had to return it. I picked up another one a few days back with my employee discount at GC for a really nice price.

I have 9-42's on it. The low E goes back so far back that it sits on one of the screws that hold the bridge in place. Plus, what's up with the G string intonation being so far back?

I had a Player Tele before this with the same 6 saddle bridge and did not have this issue. I know it's not really something to worry about, but I'm just trying to figure out why this specific guitar needs the saddles so far back.

Unless I'm crazy and this is perfectly normal, in which case I'll be happy to have my mind put at ease.

Here are a couple of pics.

Nothing says you can't simply cut/file the screws down.

I've had the situation where the springs are so compressed you can't get the saddle back far enough. I just cut the springs in half without consequence. :)

Having the same problem and it's driving me nuts. Definitely a flaw in the bridge design.

The problem isn't the head of the screw sticking out- the screw sits in the hole below the metal of the bridge. Pulling my saddle back above it cause that side to fall into the hole. The saddle won't sit flush to the others positioned like this as well.

I'd say that of all the teles i have had, the majority of them when intonated properly had the low E saddle sitting on the screw. There's just no reason to bother putting anymore thought into it. As long as the intonation is good, forget about it.
