Easy enough--okay, it's actually a sousaphone, the marching band equivalent of a tuba.

I wasn't correcting you. I meant the instrument in the video I posted isn't a tuba, it's a sousaphone, essentially a tuba redesigned by John Phillip Sousa for the the purpose of carrying in marching bands. And the Dirty Dozen and other New Orleans brass bands do a lot of marching. I don't know what is used in Taj Mahal's song, could well have been a tuba.

The Red Devils...one album, but it was a good one.

    One chord and the truth.

    Great groove.

Maxwell Street, on another thread I mentioned how the Stones hadn't done diddly the last five records, but I always forget about a Bigger Bang, which is a really good record. THanks for that.

    ditto Maxwell Street.

I'm fond of Pat Hare's guitar playing. In his career he went from the Sun label to Duke/Peacock (Bobby Bland, Junior Parker etc.) to Chess with Muddy...pretty impressive.

Lots of great stuff guys! Most of which I hadn't heard (U.P. Wilson?). They play a lot of Charlie Musselwhite on xm radio so I've been meaning to check his catalog. Excellent posts.

This cut, while great, isn't his bluesier stuff, but keep clicking....

BTW--what is that song "Blessings"...I know it from way back, I think...
