I've finally finished my 5F11 Vibrolux build. It sounds almost identical to my 6G2 Princeton, an amp I've always loved. And it sounds best with a Tele ,doesn't almost everything. Thanks again to printer2 for the advice on the inputs and Mat and pasquale for the help slowing down the vibrato.

They are sweet little amps. I built one a couple of years ago.

Thank you all for the compliments.Fender Lover I had a gentleman named Joe Vallina make the logo he has a company called amplates.com. He does nice work. Pasquale ,yep it's fingernail polish on the nuts and screws . My wife gave me a color she didn't like. Guitar 1amp2000 nice job on yours. This amp building is addictive. I think I'll try a tweed Tremolux or Harvard next. I have Weber Tremolux chassis sitting here or I would like to try and make a Harvard with the 6AT6 preamp using a 5F2 chassis. Probably the Harvard first they just sound so sweet

Not debating your choice in amps but, isn't the 6G2, the 5F11, and the Harvard 5F10 (other than skipping the tremolo) basically the same amp? Wouldn't putting a 12AY7 in the 5F11 give you a Harvard?

Nice build. I had a 1960 Harvard and it was a great amp for cleans.

How did you get a Tremolux chassis from Weber? Ted had told me before he passed away that they were coming out with a kit, but I have never seen anything hit the shelves. Did they do a special run of silkscreening to their Bandmaster/Super/Pro chassis at one point?

Harvards are great sounding little amps, about 10 watts. The 6AT6 preamp tube gives a different sound than a 12AY7. The Harvard is basically a Vibrolux without the trem. I used a Vibrolux fiber board on my build omitting the trem section.

When I built my Tremolux, there were no chassis with the correct screens. I used a Bandmaster chassis because it was punched for the correct number of tubes, pots, jacks, etc. The fiberboard also did not exist off the shelf. I got a universal board, from Mojo I think, and laid it out like a Tremolux.

milocj, Weber did make a limited run of their 5E7 chassis screened as a Tremolux . If you will look on their website under amp parts then under chassis kits, it is there at the bottom of the 5E7 chassis as a 5E7T. It is still on the website, as to whether or not they still have any available I can't say. Watts tube audio has a board for both the cathode bias and fixed bias versions but I plan on making a fiberboard myself.

Printer2 I really respect your knowledge but after listening many times to Mark Baier's demo of his Victoria Ivy League. I would really like to try building a Harvard with a 6AT6 preamp tube . They just sound sweeter to me than any of the 12A_7 family. The 5F11 is for a friend of mine so I won't really end up with 3 nearly identical amps.

Guitar1amp2000, Nice work, How much of the amp are you building? It looks like you rolled your own cabs. How much else is all yours?

I built an amp that uses a 6AT6 and pretty much is a Harvard but uses 6AQ5's and cathode bias rather than fixed. I will probably build a real one at some point in time, like the sound of them. Just thought I would mention it in case you were unaware of it, I am the last to suggest not building an amp. Heck, why not go stereo or even quad for that mater (does that date me?).

I would wish you luck but I think you are beyond needing luck in your builds, nice work.
