I'm looking for plans for a 57 champ cab, cant seem to find any on here which is surprising.
Can someone please point me in the right direction to find a plan to build a cab?

Thanks Jim, i'm in Australia so shipping might make that less of a good deal.

Cheapest grill cloth I could find was from KLD on ebay and another china seller that looked closer to fender stuff but still off the mark. The KLD cloth looks bad on ebay pics but the reviews seem good. Maybe its not so bad in person? Their tweed looks a bit too vibrant and cheesy too.
If I go that route I may end up having to lay it out in the sun for a couple months to fade it all out.

Totally not into replicating vintage. Hate real tweed - hard to glue and work with, furry, stains, collects dust, etc etc... and looks yuk if you lacquer it... and looks ugly anyway.

Don't care about Oxblood or even Chickenblood... load of nonsense.

I just use colours I like. The retro freaks can have their tweed/oxblood with yellow stripe, vintage correct this and vintage correct that... I'd rather have an amp that is MINE.

PS. The colours on your computer are never anything like what you get. Don't stress.

I want mine to look close to vintage correct but want it cheap. I recently sold two tweed blues juniors and am missing the tweed. This amp will get carted around quite a lot if I like it's sound so will inevitably end up with scrapes, stains etc.

Have you tried goodbuy711, based in HK so hopefully cheaper postage, I've seen them recommended here, although I have no experience of them. It's yellower tweed but it's a conventional fabric.

Thanks, yes I was looking at their listing earlier. I cant remember if they had the nicer looking grill cloth too. Their prices seem good. I will probably shellac the tweed and if it turns out too dark etc its no big deal.

Amp building is a little addictive...do yourself a favor and order enough grill cloth/tweed to do, like, 2 or three; then, be careful about how you cut it to save--particularly on the tweed. You'll find that it ends up being a bit less expensive that way.

    me too.

These guys are a pretty good bunch to deal with; even though it's an overseas shipment, drop 'em an email and see what they can do for you--particularly on an order exceeding $100 US. You might be surprised.

A 'Cabinet Drawings' thread would be a good idea for a sticky post in the Shock Brothers forum. I have a few drawings on my other computer to contribute.
