I see no red wire to pin 8 of rectifier from the OT or to the board either...?

    Good catch. Achy.

I have used the same OT.

I don’t know what to do now I put new rec tube in turn on amp v1 got tube went white and smoke v1 820 ohm resistor. All I know to do is pull it apart and start over.

You need to use a more sensible start-up procedure than just throwing all the tubes in it and flicking it on. Shouldn't have any tubes in until you've verified the voltage at all the rectifier socket pins is appropriate. Then you put only the rectifier tube in and make measurements at all the other important pins and points. Do you have a lightbulb limiter?

If you are using the 40-18022 ot your wiring in the photos on page 1 is incorrect. Have you addressed that? Perhaps some new photos.

Sounds to me like you have a short somewhere.(I know...big help right?)
Make sure your rectifier socket is installed/keyed correctly, and that you have the transformer wires on the correct leads. Then double check it.
After that, start wire tracing, and continuity checking....
With no power and no tubes.
Make sure that pin 8 isn't shorted to ground (use the ohm setting on the meter), then start following the path.
My guess is that somewhere, you have the DC high voltage getting shorted to ground.

    WAG.
When you fixed the V1 pin8 pin3 issue mentioned in post# 55-56. You accidentally connected pin1 or maybe pin6 to the V1 cathode terminal. Pins 1&6 provide the high voltage to the tube.

I had to order the resistor that smoked this gives me a few days to recheck everything I pulled the board and checking everything on it first. I also ordered new sockets. The ones that I had were horrible and felt so cheap.

I finally got the parts in and put the amp back together. I installed rec. diodes and did mods suggested in post #49. I built a lightbulb limiter. And did a test. It lit up the limited exactly as the one in Robs YouTube video demonstrating it. Only problem is I have no sound out of the amp at all, not even a hum. What could it be?

I wired the OT like this. I’ll snap some more pics.

I have used the same OT.

That should be correct now. Did you move the PI tail resistors noted in post #50?

Yes that’s what I used. It lit up and did exactly the same as robs did in his video. Just no sound out of the amp when I plugged in a guitar.
