Man, that thing looks great! Both the plastics and the finish especially have aged real well. I love that radiused "ramp", I guess you could call it, from the face of the peghead to the face of the fretboard, something that even the custom shop fails to get right all the time, often way too big of a radius.

A guy I ran into a guy in about 2005 who had a 57 strat he got new. The case was barely holding together but the guitar was great. Much more discolored plastic than that one. The nitro had a lot of crazing but the guitar played fantastic. I offered him $6k for it, but he held firm at $10k.

$10k would have been a good investment. I'll bet you would like to have that decision back. Lol.

Wow! Played but definitely loved. The lack of discoloration shows it was either played a while and put away for the long-term, or stashed away, pulled out at some point and played a bunch and put away again as it's value started to rise and go through the roof.

Really, really sweet. About as sweet as can be. And lightweight for a Strat.

That said, in this day and age, there is absolutely no acceptable excuse for a musical instrument dealer to be calling anything on a Strat – except perhaps the fretboard dots – "Bakelite." We all know by now that the early white plastic was never made from phenolic material.

Probably a dog or it would have been played more.

I’d definitely buy a plane ticket and check it out in person for that much

I'd much sooner buy that than Clapton's hardtail.

    Well...

I can say I bought a '66 NR Firebird from that shop (Lovie's Guitars) and under the "overspray" (the whole body) they never disclosed a significant headstock repair. Which, means, they never black lighted the guitar in the first place. I didn't know this until I years later sold it! That said, the price was right regardless.

IMO, I don't like how the neck finish looks but it could be the pics.
