Wondering if the '52 VHR pickguard is plastic or bakelite. If it's the latter, anyone have a lead on where I could get one for less than a small fortune with a mini-humbucker route?

Did some research and found out it's bakelite. Best option I can find is to grab an Esquire pg from the 'bay and mod for the mini-hb route. $20 and some elbow grease later and I should be out what it would cost to get the same thing done in plastic.
