Visited my favorite guitar store Blues Angel in Pensacola yesterday. Was looking for a nice tele, but open to other stuff as well. I really like Eastman guitars, and they have a nice selection right now. My SB59V is one of the best guitars I have ever had. So another Eastman would be just fine with me. My choice was a tele though for me and my daughter to enjoy. All the American Professional Series were nice although I did not plug anything in. Just sat playing acoustically. They had a 52 roasted that was out of my price range, but I live about an hour and a half away. So I wanted to at least see what it played like. As soon as the guy handed it to me I knew the neck was perfect. Sat down and checked all the normal stuff....string alignment, neck curve, neck pocket. Played it for about 5 minutes never plugging it in. Jim the owner walked up and ask about my wife and kids. I then told him I absolutely loved the feel of this neck, but the guitar was a little more than what I wanted to spend. We talked more at the counter now, and he ended up offering a terrific deal that I could not turn down. Drove home, put heavier strings on, and raised the action while watching the Olympics. No need to adjust the big neck at all....no movement. Then I plugged into an amp for the first time...lol. Outstanding to say the least. Everything is perfect including the three non compensated brass saddles. What a great guitar, and fine people to deal with too.
