Nice looking guitar but a '52 Esquire? sorry but no.
You'll need handwriting analysis on that.
I've only seen one date code on any body, not three? As if someone really wanted to make sure you knew it was a '52 no matter where you looked. The masking tape looks less than a year old...
I have spent long enough looking at the Nacho book to say that none of those pictures look like any 52 in there
Have you bought this?
It seems to me there is not even a single thing right for an authentic vintage blackguard.
First post and not a word apart from the title... Is it even serious?
I have to ask. What makes you think it's a 52 esquire? Given the shots you posted don't even show a Fender Esquire decal clearly.
Forum post as performance art?
Maybe it’s a test to see if any of us tele aficionados are buying that it’s a real 52?
How does it play?
Doesn't seem a polite way to join a group?
Seems more like a practical joke to put up a 9.5 radius with humbuckers in it and ask if it is a 52
like a '52 dream what with the vintage '52 hot rail in the bridge...
however it is a little worrisome that someone tried to make that appear to be made in '52 by the pencil markings...
Look at that masking tape! Look at the fret markers!
That far back in time you can check for the nail holes used on the body for painting. From my view, the paint looks too shiny for a 67 year old guitar.
The only thing that would make it more suspect is the date being 02/30/52.
Hi, @bmblebeetuna. It's not a '52 Fender of any type. Any more info to share on this guitar?
well I just bought it for 400 just researching it, I thought it looked too new to be a 52, I have more pics I figured it wasn't real but why would someone fake it then sell it for 400
I know for sure the wiring harness isn't original it says switch craft on the input jack. I appreciate the responses. I'm new to online forums
has anyone ever seen initials on the inside of control knobs? same initials on the rest of it
