5 years ago this morning I was at work, just stoked about going to see Buckethead for the first time later that evening, and someone walks in my office to tell us that Prince was just found deceased @Paisley Park.

That was just one of the strangest days I recall in the past many years, being here in the Twin Cities, Prince passing, and seeing Buckethead for the first time, all in the same space of a few hours.

It was surreal being here in the Twin Cities the day that Prince passed; it was quite the shock.

Mr. Carroll put on an excellent performance; April 21, 2016 @ Cabooze was my first time to experience Buckethead live.

The entire day was memorable, for good & for not so good ...............

Not sure I could come up with two more different artists than you've posted here. The first one is incredibly talented and MUSICAL.......the second is, well.....NOT. Sorry.

Wow. I saw Brian years ago from maybe 10 feet away. Absolutely incredible guitar player. Stunning in fact. You must be a REALLY good guitar player if you don't think Buckethead is. Do you have any videos of you playing we can check out?

As different as they are, I think they are both amazing talents.

Maybe some don't know, but Buckethead has put out ova 300 albums!

Do yourself a fav, and listen to a few - from soft, deep n ethereal acoustic (dedicated to his decease mother) to searing, robotic mayhem (dedicated to his basketball hero). And for those old schoolies, watch his blues/rock tribute vid - does Hendrix better than Hendrix, Page better than Page, EVH better than EVH, etc. Even plays slap bass better than Flea!

Both artist are IMHO talented; I have seen both in live performance, and crowds love & appreciate each artist, respectively.

Hummm, good enough to sub for Slash in Guns & Roses on the Chinese Democracy Tour.
Yah, can't imagine your level of required talent to be considered good.

I can only imagine how Buckethead and His Band felt after hearing the news about Prince, knowing they had a Show to do that night!

Buckethead and his Lads have no doubt, listened to everybody throughout their Lives.
Part of what made them the world-class musicians that they are.

Pretty much a weird day for every body when Prince passed.

I don’t think playing on the GNR Chinese Democracy tour is anything to be proud of.

Also, wasn’t “subbing” for Slash as Slash had long left GNR by that point. Let’s be honest, they had one good album (Appetite) and it hit at the right time with the right people and the right sound. Without Appetite, Slash would just be another forgotten 80’s guitarist.
