What is the going rate for these now? (That they are actually sold for)

It has been a while since I saw one for sale...

Current pics of Keith Urban's 40th anniversary tele Clarence... from the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. Looks like Clarence has a new neck now. Maybe the old one was warped from the flood?

Nice pics! Last time I saw "Clarence" it had a La Cabronita neck instead of that neck.

John were the 40th anniversaries serialized according to time of build completion (#1 was first completed) or numbered randomly after all were completed? Thanks in advance, Matt

This is interesting. Every other 40th Anniversary Tele I've seen, including mine, has xxx of 300 in black printing just above the Custom Shop logo on the back of the headstock. This one has a more common looking serial number on the front.

I seem to remember that there was a second run of these instruments but no details. Do you know the provenance of this instrument? Was it presented to you as being built in 1989 or more recently? All the other details seem legit.

Addendum: I went back in this thread to page 16 and found some discussion from 2014 about an instrument with the serial number like yours.

Hello friends. I'm going to put my 40th Anniversary on the market soon. I'm giving anyone who monitors this thread first crack at it. It's a red one, #241 of 300. Interested people can PM me for details.

I know the prices for vintage guitars have been dropping but there were only 300 of these made and I haven't seen one for sale in a long time. I don't have a price set but I think in the $4-5k range would be fair.

No idea, but Fender prices and others have been on a roller coaster ride in the last year or so. Check out www.reverb.com and search for that guitar. They have an option on their website that allows you to look for asking prices and actual prices paid for the last 12 months or so. Good luck/

Yeah I've used Reverb. I haven't checked for that particular guitar recently, but I know about that feature. Thanks.
