This one has been played a lot.. Can't say I blame them!
New 40th Anniversary 1988 Natural #235 of 300
Congrats! Used to also be mine. Too funny...
WOW. Since I have your red one, I guess you are down to just one now. Quick, you can buy it back
If I had the cash I would but it and then probably need to find a new place to live...
Yep, it's incestuous this 40th Anniversary Tele club....
Well, poo. Had a family car go out, so I need to move some gear to cover the cost of new transportation.
I REALLY hate to do this, but if someone is dying to get a killer 40th Anniversary in Sunburst, shoot me an email at email@example.com.
I have a ton of gear listed and am hoping others items sell first so I can justify keeping this. Obviously, this won't be cheap, but it will be a fair price.
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully the 40th Anniv will be surplus to requirements.
There are TWO Sunburst on US eBay right now.
Yes, one of them is mine (the one in the US). Obviously if anyone is interested here of the forum I can make them a much better deal outside of eBay. Plenty of people here can vouch for me as a seller.
Yes, I bought a 40th off of musicsoma last year. Deal went very smoothly
I took my listing for the Sunburst 40th off eBay. I have it listed locally and will make someone a deal if they are looking for a Sunburst 40th. Feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Good luck with the sale and sorry to have to let 'er go...
40th Anniv Teles are popping up for sale quite frequently now. A natural finish one on eBay at the moment.
Yep, been noticing this. Prices seem higher and maybe why some are prompted to sell. The Natural on on eBay looks really nice.
I haven't seen a 40th I didn't love.
Wow, Trifeca... there are THREE 40th Anniversary Telecasters in US eBay right now.
Hi all. Some of you may remember I joined this club last year with #241, a translucent red. The guitar had a different bridge pickup and a 4 way switch but I liked the way it sounded.
Anyway, I thought it would be better to return it to stock since it's such a rare piece so I had the original pickup repaired & installed in January. I still liked the sound but after a while I thought it sounded a little muffled. The only comparison I have is my 1972 Thinline RI which was much brighter. The TBX tone control didn't seem to do much so I bought a new one from Fender along with a new 3 way switch and put them in yesterday.
WOW! What a difference! Tele twang for days! The only issues now are the middle position is a little lower in level compared to the SCs & the bridge pickup seems awfully microphonic which I hadn't noticed before. Could that middle position be because I've put one of the pups out of phase? I've got the white lead from each pup going to the switch . . .
I also wonder if the person who did the previous work didn't solder everything properly. I know my (solder) joints are good but I didn't re-do all of them. The 4 way wiring looked ok based on what I could find on the web.
Thanks for any insights!
Anybody here know how thick the maple top is on these?
I have a sunburst 40th in mint condition, with some case candy, but without COA.
It's the 284 of 300 and I'm selling it on ebayit, for money and because I play jazz on archtops Guitars.
I am selling also a super rare Collings AT 17.
FYI ,that was Scott Buehl, Fred Stuart, Brett Faust, Chris Darin Sanchez, John Page, and possibly Mike Stevens?
I hope that helps.
