Yes it does. Looks mint. Be interesting just how high it goes.
Two more sold on eBay
$8500 for mint one
$5000 for the one in very worn condition
There's a nice sunburst for $6,995 on Grinning Elk.
Hey friends, I have an idea. I'd really like to create a database for the run of 300. If you have one, can you email me at email@example.com? I'm thinking it would be cool to locate as many of them as possible and sort of track them throughout their life.
In theory that's a good idea, but I am not keen to publish my serial numbers for security reasons. Sorry!
I understand. I have amassed a decent database to try to understand a general idea as to quantity of each color.
I recently was able to purchase another Sunburst after having sold my previous one to a forum member. Regretted parting with it, so I am glad to have this one. Pleasantly surprised to see this inside as my other two didn't have the same...
Mike Stevens, founder of the Fender Custom Shop, has his own website full of beautiful instruments:
If you were to write to him, I'm sure he could tell you exactly how many of each color he produced. Best of luck, CS
I can tell you that I have one of each colour, so that's 3 of the 300!
Glad to hear another one found its way to you, still thankful that you sold me this one! Taking great care of her
That is great! It was an amazing Tele! Glad it has a loving home.
I happen to have 2 of these guitars in my possession, both have been kept in their original cases, and if they have been played it has been very little. the red one has all the original paperwork still sealed in the bag, and a serial # in the 180's. The other has the certificate only, and has a serial # under 10. I am interested in what I could realistically get out of these if I were to sell. any info would help me out greatly, thanks.
OK, I wrote a nice message to y'all and then lost it when I tried to copy a picture into it. I guess I need to read up on that technique!
Short version: NGD!! Translucent Red 40th Anniversary Telecaster #241 of 300. Very sweet but not entirely stock. The pickup switch has 4 positions not three. The all sound different and good but the published specs say three. The bridge pup has been replaced with a SD Alnico II Pro which sounds great but I did get the original pup in the deal. Assuming it either works or can be repaired, would it improve the value to put it back in?
I'm not a collector and I have no intention of selling but I would like to have a handle on the value.
Thanks for all your collective wisdom!
Oh, the advanced reply! Well, here's a picture.
BTW, the ferrules are countersunk!
