    Hi, I recently purchased a 1988 Custom Shop 40th Anniversary Telecaster # 81 of 300

I was lucky enough to purchase this transparent red one from Csapo who has let many of his fabulous collection of Telecasters go. So I will be this one's guardian for a long while I hope.

Absolutely beautiful guitar and now my most prized Telecasters.

Thanks AjayTele glad I was able to buy one of these. I own quite a few Teles (10), no where as many as you, but this one is fantastic!

    40th ANNIVERSARY TELECASTER.
Never plugged in, unplayed, perfect new condition, Translucent Red, with original tweed case, accessories & Certificate of Authenticity signed by Michael Stevens in original shipping carton, s/n 300/300. Comes with 2-page copy of Fender's July 21, 1988 letter regarding this introduction. Anyone know what the value would be?

B.T.W. The 300 built were not 100 of each color. The names of the colors are: Honey Violin Sunburst, Tinted Natural and Translucent Red.

    LEXUSJACK,

I have 81 out of 300 in same color. Price is always whatever someone will pay. I recently saw one sell for on eBay for $6,600 which was a bit rich I think. If I had to guess I would say somewhere between $4500 and $6600. My guess is these will only move up in value.

They are beautiful Telecasters and it seems you have the last one ever made, except for the one they built for Clapton which was 0 of 300 that the custom shop made in 1992. That one was for sale a Christie's for about $71K.

Finally found mine! #186 in sunburst from an American collector named Chris Ruth located in Tokyo. Absolutely beautiful, best playing tele I've ever played.

Thought I'd share this with you. I think it's from 1997. It's at the Emerald Country Music Spectacular in Australia. I was playing there, so had stage and back/side stage access, and was able to get some good shots.
