Hi Everyone, I'd like to show off a pic of my #270. I've had it 20 years now!
Well that is a GREAT first post.
Welcome and beautiful 40th ya got there...
I was able to help out 'Musicsoma' by relieving him of his Natural finish 40th. Okay, it set me back some serious 'coin' but I just couldn't resist...and I tried. This forum actually helped me make the final decision to pull the financial trigger. Mine (#250) should arrive on Saturday...can hardly wait. Thanks to all for helping market this remarkable guitar
Congrats and welcome to the club. I saw Musicsoma's post on the other forum and was sad he was selling but looks like it is going to a very good home.
Post up some pics when it arrives. You will be a very happy 40th owner!!!!
I note that the Red 40th on eBay that started at $7000, is now at a Buy It Now for $4800..and still no taker with only a few minutes left. I guess the seller will be defining the market for us. I will be honest...I paid $4200 for my natural finish. But it is truly in pristine condition, albeit without the COA...still love it!! I comparred it 'head to head' with my Suhr Classic 'T', which is a very nice tele, and there really is a remarkable difference in favor of the 40th!! I am quite happy with this 'keeper'!!
Enjoy your new old guitar Col.
Play it in the best of health.
Thanks for the kind words, Brett! And same to you my friend...
Tele 40th Annivesary
I just bought this from the original owner. One of the best tops I've ever seen on this model. Original strap, polishing cloth, COA and tags.
It is awesome to meet some new "club members". I was sad to see my Natural go, but I am so glad it went to a great home. I have a little girl on the way in November, and the sale provided for new baby clothes and furniture for her room. It also allows for my wife to take a bit more time off during pregnancy.
I still have my 40th in Sunburst. While the condition is not as clean as #250, it is a beautiful guitar and a killer player. It has aged in a very unique way with some really cool discoloration on the binding creating a sort of tiger-stripe look.
CSAPO, you and I still need to meet up! We are too close to let the opportunity pass.
Where are these craftsmen initials? I have pulled my pickguard and there don't seem to be any initials in the rout on my natural finished Sn250...looked also in the bridge rout..no initials there either. Am I just looking in the wrong places? Or did some late SN's get built by apprentices with no initials added? Or....??
Hmmmm...haven't tried the neck block. Maybe they are there as on some others I saw on this thread!
Initials or not...for whomever may be interested, I have my 'Tinted Natural' SN 250 on eBay with a Buy It Now of $3299.. a bargain for a 40th in excellent condition. I find that I am really more fond of a bigger neck radius. But what a beautiful piece of work and tonality.
if someone would be interested I'm selling a 40th anniversary, absolutely perfect. I'm selling it to pass to a vintage tele. I live in Italy.
Here my e-mail: email@example.com
have a nice day!
Hi everybody ! It's my first post on this forum... I'm the owner of a beautiful 40th Anniversary Tele in natural finish (it's n. 90) and I recently found n. 282 in sunburst. I'd like to post the pictures, but I still have to figure out this forum
Leonardo (from Italy)
Hi guys, just to inform I sold the #250.
Ciao Leonardo ... we are waiting for your pics!
Keiths tele is back up and running....and believe it or not, sounds better than when it went in. Unlike many, life was brought back into this beautiful axe.
Hey friends, I may be selling my Sunburst 40th Anniversary (new baby has arrived). If you are interested, shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Seems like I am always chasing Ajay.
And now mine...
