Hello good people, I hope someone out there can help me find the title/artist name for a song I have been trying to trace for about 40 years. A section of the lyrics goes as follows: 'when you get across to the other side of the bridge' and another part goes as follows: 'don't be a fool.' I know it isn't much to go on! I heard it on the Tommy Vance Friday night rock show on BBC Radio. I can't think who the vocalist or the guitar player even sound like either...sorry! Any help would be gratefully received.

Any other clues? Style of music, instruments on the song, rough time period it sounds like it might have been recorded.

Spotify has a Tommy Vance channel with music from the show. Might have to spend some time listening to various tracks but it might be a way to find it.

Thank you, that's definitely an excellent way to spend some quality time, I shall make that happen!

I did some shows for a local community radio station. They kept detailed records of what was played date and time. You may try to reach out to the station and see if you can get that information assuming you remember the time and date of the show.

This reminds me of an old "Married with Children" Episode where Al Bundy goes looking for the name of a song that goes "Hmm Hmm Him...". I wish you luck on your quest. You've got more than AL did
Turned out to be the original version of Anna (Go to him), which most humans know through The Beatles' cover version.

If you remember the melody, you can try to sing / whistle it in shazam. It might work.
I spent 20 years looking for a song, and winded up buying a demo cassette of the band playing that song on discogs. Talk about being lucky...

...Arthur Alexander...
I am a Beatlemaniac...so true, gram! Since learning of the many covers they did I have amassed a healthy record collection before the 'mania and after...and then guitars? Yikes...good times...
