I am wanting to add a push pull pot to a 4 way wiring diagram so that when engaged in any position you can diengage the tone and run the pickup/pickups through the cocked wah cap. Is this possible?
Also could I use another push pull as a blower switch that would run the pickup/pickups straight to the Jack from any position bypassing the vol and tone?

    .

I tried it on a humbucker guitar and there are not enough switch tabs to make it work.

However, I hard wired the Arlo cocked wah to the bridge humbucker (for distortion), and turning the tone knob darker gets the pickup back to normal tone for cleaner blues. So it's useful that way.

I used the p/p down to give the neck humbucker single coil, up gives both coils in parallel for strat quack. You need to lower the pickup and raise the screw poles for that. I used a strat stagger pattern.

I only put p/p on tone pots, since volume pots take more abuse.

    Here you go...

EDIT: sorry, I just used a random 4-way order that I had on hand. If you want it differently ordered, and need help, just holler.

It’s all about expanding your view just a little more. it gets really interesting if you follow that train of thought, but read the titles before and after all in order.

Thank you moosie, you always come through. Are there any other options you would add to this or suggestions?
Whenever I get to the wiring part of a project I feel like a fat kid at a buffet, I want to see just how much I can get on my plate at once. The problem is that sometimes you fried chicken and waffles, but more often than not I end up with butterscotch pudding in my spaghetti and meatballs.

Ha! I don't see any easy additions to this, if that's what you mean.

Of course, you can always add a treble bleed...

I can't comment on the Arlo values. I've wired that general circuit for myself, but only played it briefly, some years ago.

Moosie, I do have a random question about wiring.
The neck+ goes from the middle on the far side, jumps to the left one spot and then across. My question is , function wise, does it matter if the neck+ is connected there or the one across from it, where the jumper terminates?

just asking far as a thought exercise.

You can connect N+ anywhere along that blue wire.

In a series 4-way, there aren't enough throws to connect everything the normal way. So, N+ is hardwired to hot, and all the switching is done to N–. Keep in mind that this makes for a noise situation in position 1, when Bridge is active, and all the neck pickup metal is just laying in the guitar, ungrounded. The fix, which I almost never see anyone do, is to connect the two neck leads together, shorting the pickup. It's the reason the long blue wire goes through bottom lug #1.

That should give you something to think about... :)

Could I beg one more favor from you moosie, if I like to reverse my control plate, could I talk you into doing this but with a reverse plate?

What do you mean by top-mid-bottom? Neck-mid (parallel) -bridge? What about the series setting?

Vol-tone-switch just involves sliding the switch to the right on the diagram. No circuit change. Unless you want the switch positions re-ordered...

I meant volume at the top, tone in the middle and switch at the bottom
