I've never done a 4 way switch before. I used a schematic I found online.
I'm not sure if I screwed up the wiring or this is what it called for. I don't think I made any mistakes.

It's wired and working but here is what I have:

    1. Bridge only
    2. Bridge and Neck in Parallel
    3. Bridge and Neck in Series (Humbucker ish)
    4. Neck only

I always thought it was supposed to be like this:
    1. Bridge only
    2. Bridge and Neck in Parallel
    3. Neck only
    4. Bridge and Neck in Series (Humbucker ish)

After playing the guitar a while last night, I have no problem with the order of the switching. It kind of makes sense to me because both single coil sounds are in the first and last position.
Is there an advantage to having it wired like the second example? I'm guessing it's so position 1, 2 and 3 are the same as a normal tele?

I would do it just like you wired it myself. I think that makes the most sense to me. Slam that switch back and you have bridge single, slam if forward and you have neck single. The middle is the fiddle positions, fiddle with it until you like what you hear.

Well said, this is exactly what I like about it.

I wired one like example 2. It seems to make the most sense to me. 1, 2, 3 just like normal, but the extra 4th position offering the "extra" thing. This way I can just throw the switch all the way back for the big, fat series option when it's solo time.

That guitar is a handsome beast, BTW. I don't even like pearloid, but it looks good on that one.

I did mine the same way that you did yours. I did it intentionally.

I think I agree with your wiring for my own 2¢. The 4 way can be wired for positions in all places. To each his own. Just do what you want and feel comfortable with it. Doesn't matter what anyone else says. I think there are 8 ways to do it, if I remember correctly. The diagram for all are on the web. I dig the 4 way. Keep on pickin!!!!

4-way switches can be wired either way - depending on if the player would rather have the "series" combo or the "neck only" in the "all the way forward" position 4... I always go with the 4th position being series combo
