Man was I nervous to do any kind of clipping or soldering but I'm very happy I did, I can't believe the difference it made in the 4th position, it's beefy and loud, I like it. I was looking to spend money on humbuckers that fit in a standard tele without mods but not now. I recommend the mod very much.
I used the solder less mojotone 4 way switch kit. Worth every penny.

Yes indeed! It is a beefier and ballsy sound. However, I have two neck pups I managed to break in the process of installing them.

Some ppl hate it, but I think u need to use the right pups for it to work well.

I used to think it worked best with low output pups but it sounds great with Fender vintage noisless, which are moderately high.

I have a 4 way switch to eventually put on a current build, but I’m still confused about clipping the neck pup wire and adding another ground. All the diagrams I’ve seen are very vague in explanation.

I installed one a month ago and was the same. In the end I watched this guy and did is on my own and turned out quite simple.

You basically clip the wire and where it goes through the pickup plate, you just solder another wire.

I just installed one in my Tele last week with a set of Wilde Microcoils and dang does it sound good! I was lucky the Wilde's already have a 3rd wire. Its a nice "bonus" sound for me, don't want it all the time but when I do I've got it.

I’m a fan. You hit the nail on the head. Why should you be limited in your choice of tone? There’s no downside that I can think of.

How do you wire it ?

    Neck serie parallel bridge ?

I did a neck/mid and bridge mid push pull and neck on Switch on my telecaster and there are must have mod and are really easy to do.

Phase switch is much more useless.

That's why I was terrified to do it but luckily I made it out unscathed, may have to lengthen the switch slot a tad so it clicks in place hard.

This is exactly what I watched because the directions I got were vague at best. That video is perfect

Even my dad likes the series tone, and he's pretty old school.

Initially I went this way as well, but then realized I like my neck to be where it usually was so I did some rewiring and ended up with Bridge, Parallel, Series, Neck. Just was a matter of preference

I didn't have a choice, I bought the solder less kit pre assembled, but im sure if I moved some of the wires around I could do the same but I know nothing about what goes where to make this do that...I do need to extend the slot for it to click in all the way, any suggestions? File or Dremel, I need about a .5mm longer.

I don't know what tools you have available, but between the file and the dremel I'd go with the hand file. less chance to mess something up

Ok I’ve heard/read about this 4 way switch mod for quite some time now.
    I finally did it.
Geez why did I wait so long?
    This absolutely rocks!!!!

If you are on the fence about it just do it!
