I’m not one to ramble on about myself. Or try not to at least. But y’all are my only outside my realm of friends I talk to (avoid social media) and it’s been mentioned before here and there. This past Monday I got to sign off on a 4 year differed probation. It’s no longer on my record. I’ve grown tremendously in a lot of ways.

TO THE POINT: I’ve followed a local Dallas artist for a while now. And this past year has been big for him (Joshua Ray Walker) from singing the Anthem and the Formula 1 races in Austin this last October. To playing the tonight show in February. To his Opry debut April 15th.

To celebrate my milestone my dad took me to a local bar to see him again last night. I got the pleasure to meet him and have him sign my guitar case. Got to talk to him a bit. And found out another favorite bands (Old 97’s) will actually be covering one of HIS songs later this year. After seeing him grow and have his own personal struggles (he’s very open about if you so choose to look him up and read some interviews) it was great to see him hit the success he has. As well as celebrating my own.

Born and raised east Dallas. Very transparent lyrics. Exposing his fears, love, insecurity, bouts with self hatred. Hell of a voice and pipes like no other

Yea. It wasn’t easy at times. Probably a years worth of state jail time OR 4 year probation (but it would drop after) there were times I wondered if it was worth the time and fees. But it built a character in me that I’m proud to be now. And a sense of empowerment. If I can overcome this I can do anything
