I picked one up. The neck is thinner than I expected for a "Thick C" profile. It feels more like a "Medium C" to me. That's my only complaint. It was set up perfectly out of the box. It's the lightest Tele I own at 6.8 pounds. The Nocaster pickups sound fantastic. This is a great deal.

Bought one earlier today. Now I'm already wondering where I can get a white guard made for it.

Yes. The Classic Player series is MIM.

That's pretty cool. I had not seen that model.
If any of you guys that buy one ever take it all apart, would you please send me a tracing of the pickguard?

That might look cool with an engraved Zemaitis style guard on it.

That's too good to pass up I've got a tracking number for one. That can become a cheap Esquire with 2 Nocaster bridge pickups for other guitars. Or sell the 2 pickups to average down the price. Maybe go with a mini hum in the neck after some routing? Tons of possibilities there for little money.

Will the 5 way switch work with only 2 pickups, or will you have to change that also?

Well you could use it as a 4 position with a kill position. You could use it like an Esquire where you might have the normal 3 Tele positions and 2 positions with different capacitor circuits. You could wire it as a 3 position with 2 dead positions too. So, yes it will work.

You are making me get one too. I just got a strat and I promised myself I would not buy another guitar this year. But then again, like you say this is too good to pass up :(

LOL sorry about that. I "shouldn't" buy it myself. I just bought a $300 Blacktop Jazzmaster from MF during the Black Friday sales. But... I've always done well on these blowout guitars. I've converted a few of them into good trades. It's like a $300 Esquire at the Baja Quality point if you harvest out those other 2 (fantastic) Nocaster pickups! Those pickups are easy to sell/reuse. And I think this comes with a gig bag too?

Worst case, they have a generous return policy. It can go back at the expense of shipping.
