I'm gonna stock up, these are nearly as cheap as EDEN necks, come with a nut, and WAY better return policy.

When I look at enlarged photos of some of the bodies they're selling, it makes me wonder whether you'd want to spend much time bringing a neck up to usable quality. But that's just one guy's opinion.

    Check out the pockets:

What are these things made of? Old-growth Honduran pressboard?

Site says it's made of Paulownia. There is a thread on TDPRI on its use as a tonewood.
But I agree, the wood looks strange in some places.

Well if you look closely it doesn't say it's made out of SOLID paulownia, whereas it says SOLID for their ash bodies....

Jay says he buys paulo by the tens of tousands of board feet, I doubt it's plywood.

Looks like all those necks are 12" radius.

Something to keep in mind regarding the GFS claims of "These are common Fender style and WILL fit all licensed fender bodies.". rphunt2002 posted in this post about his "Paddle-head" neck that he received from GFS. I guess in China they won't be reinventing the wheel anytime soon because they won't be able to get it to spec. :D

Hmmm...I have a garage sale Strat copy that has a horrible, impossible-to-intonate neck--maybe one of these necks might make the guitar usable.

They say that they're Fender size, but the neck that I bought from them doesn't fit either of the bodies that came in the same order. I haven't been home long enough to get measurements on them yet though.

If i were you , I would waste my money on those guitar necks from GFetish.
I just received a tele/paddle unfinished neck. The darn thing isn't cut right.
see my post just minutes ago. I bought the maple tele as well. The headstock isn't cut to specs. like i said go see my post , i have pics to back it up.

But can they be shaped to a resonable facsimile of the preferred shape.

of course they can, but what i'm saying when the strings line up over the nut and pass over the nut to the tuners, they are way above the headstock base. They shouldnt be that high is what i'm getting at. look at the 54 tele headstock with the strings sitting closer to the headstock. With the GFetish necks they are cut way too low. There is a 5/8" clearance !!!! where it should only be about 3/8" to 7/16" clearance from the string to the headstock base. do you know what mean?

My GFS neck was had a bass-side twist at the higher frets. It went into a 72 Tele Custom partscaster I put together for my wife for our anniversary, who's also learning to play. Adjusting string heights was a pain.

On the other hand, this experience has me wanting to build my first guitar neck from scratch. I need to find Terry Down's plans and get crackin'.
