I was thinking today about solos that have stuck with me over the years and these were the first three to come to mind. Not the flashiest but musically memorable for me... in no particular order...

Nils Lofgren on Neil Young's "Speakin' out".... alright Nils!

George Harrison on Something

Dean Ween on Buckingham Green

I would have to go with (#1) ... David Gilmour's "Comfortably Numb", (#2) ... Jimmy Page's "Stairway to Heaven" and (#3) ... Jimi Hendrix' "All Along the Watchtower". I actually think Eric Johnson's "Cliffs of Dover" is equal to my first pick of Comfortably Numb but it's not really a solo as the whole song is instrumental.

#1 - Brian May, “Good Company” outro solo, where he makes the harmonized guitar sound like a trad jazz band - always makes me smile
#2 - Dave Gilmore - comfortably numb - of course!
#3 - Paul Kossoff - All Right Now - because it is a right of passage for all guitarists: maybe the solo known by the largest number of guitarists?
