2204 Cold clip to Symmetrical

    In the 12AX7 the B triode is a little quieter than the A triode so some amps use V1B for the first gain stage so the cold clipper would be V1A. The classic 2204/JCM800 uses V1A for the first stage so the stability cap would go from pin 1 to pin 3 (V1A plate to cathode). It isn't shown on any schematics that I have seen but it is shown on some layouts. I suggest building the amp without that cap and then adding it if you have to for amp stability.

    I gotta say I'm confused on two points.
    1. Is the convention that V1A refers to Pins 123 and V1B to pins 678?
    2. The classic 2204/JCM800 schematic shows V1B as the first stage and the cold clipper V1A.
    Them pesky Marshall schematics change see post#4 the early (classic 1981 vs the modern 1988)
    Please help.
