After I read your recommendation in that other post, which can't named, I ordered it from my local Library. How the World Really Works: The Science Behind How We Got Here and Where We're Going by Vaclav Smil

I agree on the review saying "Smil’s own solution set is surprisingly slim" but in all honesty don't know a single simple source that also puts out much of what is in the book and with decent if not excellent reference. I felt it was a worthy read if only for the discussion of what's described as those pillars such as ammonia, cement, oil and ag as we have it sustaining our population. After I read your recommendation in that other post, which can't named, I ordered it from my local Library.
While researching, I came across this review...

I value and cherish some particular older books but there is a whole lot that has to be contemporary. There are no 1951 or even 2001 books on tech and medicine/health studying I've done recently. The book I reviewed here has some very recent and to me staggering data on what some nations have only done very recently.Personally I find older Books to be of greater value
Understood. The book is still a good overall package for a lot of stuff we (Homo sapiens) should think about and act on.
