I plan to fabricate some external corner braces from some light aluminium angle. I might add rubber feet. And I need a leash at each end to stop the lid from opening too far. I still haven't decided exactly what to use for the form fitting around the body.

Specs:
34" scale five string bass
19 fret, with a zero fret
General shape of a Reverse Thunderbird
Hollow acoustic, 4 " deep
Face panel is reclaimed cedar, off cuts of poplar, walnut, pine and other unknown species, around a slice of unknown branch with a lot of worm holes. The entire panel is reinforced on the inside with one layer of fibre glass.
Perimeter is is reclaimed cedar, off cuts of poplar, walnut and pine
Back panel is reclaimed cedar, reinforced on the inside with one layer of fibre glass.
Poplar neck with walnut fingerboard, walnut headstock veneer
Lace Sensor passive bass pick-up mounted to end of neck
Walnut tailpiece, adjustable bar bridge of walnut, roasted maple and other hardwoods
Custom built case of poplar and thin plywood, covered in tan tolex, lined with velvet and other reclaimed fabrics
