No, they don't. They make and distribute Gretsch guitars under contract with Freddie, Fender owns distribution rights. Same with DW and Gretsch drums.

A big part of why I pre-ordered this guitar is because of it's 7.25 radius. It's the ONE thing that bothers me about the AO collection. Kind of a weird move on Fender's part to put a modern radius on them IMO. Let the other (more modern) guitars in the Fender line up have flatter radiuses, but leave the guitars that are meant to be vintage-accurate alone.

The reply I got from Fender re: the pickups...

    Hello,
The 70th anniversary Broadcaster will have Hand Wound "blackguard" pickups, a set made especially for this model. they will not neccesarily be wound by Josefina.

You're welcome. Somehow I find Fender's response even more cryptic lol. The Fender website spec's say the bridge is one and the neck is another (Custom Shop designed and handwound), other websites (like Musician's Friend) saw they're designed by Tim Shaw... Kind of strange

Interesting... it looks like they reversed the body and neck colors of the Broadcaster and AO 50s... You really notice it if you look at them on Fender's website as these photos are from different sources. Just a weird observation...

Looks like the UK got them early. I've seen several posts on Instagram. Guitar and case look great! Can't wait for mine.

    ha yes.

I’m only going to play the same of stuff and sound exactly the same as I always do!

First brand new guitar for years and years.

Breaking all my own financial rules for this one and it makes zero sense.

    But I don’t care.
