    I just pre-ordered mine!

As soon as Fender unveiled this at NAMM, I got way too excited and couldn't forget about it. This will be my second guitar ever (although I have a decent collection of basses), in addition to my Squier Classic Vibe 50's in the same color. Talk about a jump up. Nothing wrong with the CV though, I know people absolutely love them.

I feel like the Broadcaster might be TOO much guitar for my low skill level, so I'll definitely have to practice a lot to feel like I deserve such a beauty!

It would be nice if these didn't have the overly rolled fingerboard edges of the AV52,
    but they probably will.

Sometimes a Toyota looks like a Lexus.

Yes, I believe that to mean production will be limited to the year 2020, not only 2020 instruments made. That's how it reads to me anyways.

No. What I'm saying is a $400 guitar may look similar to a $2000 guitar, but that's usually where the similarities stop. Such as a $35,000 car that looks like a $75,000 car. They're hardly comparable.

And I'm not meaning to be disrespectful to you or slag Squiers. I enjoy them and have owned CV models myself. Just an observation.

I keep reading about this but have yet to encounter it.

I've owned (where is that "hitting myself on the head with a hammer" emoji?) 5-6 and never run into it. Or at least, not in a way that a setup couldn't easily address without compromise. And I'm pretty picky about things like that.

I know what you're saying, but there was no need whatsoever for you to say it.

I'm sorely tempted, but want to put my hands on one... A local independent shop always stocks the best Fenders, stuff you never see at GC. I'm sure they'll get one or two... I would want a light one and I need to hear what the pickups sound like...

I was just clarifying that I didn't get it the wrong way around. I knew what I meant to say.

As I stated, it wasn't meant to insult you. Though if you feel that me pointing out there is a difference in quality is a slight against the guitar you choose to own, I would point out that implying the Broadcaster is similar to a guitar that costs one-sixth of its price could be interpreted as a slight against those who chose to buy a Broadcaster.

I never said any such thing, you're reading what you want to read. Welcome to the forum by the way, when you've been here a little bit longer you may recognise a joke.

+1. Dang it. And I was going to consider replacing my AV52. Hopefully it has the over rolled edges too so I won't feel so bad.
On the bright side I can now concentrate on a new Strat (or Gibson). :D

Funny how the fine print decal on the headstock can induce GAS.

Whisper it: I wish they would have told Gretsch to pound sand. Nobody cares and nobody knows what drumkits are called. I like the name Broadcaster better than Telecaster although we wouldn't have been able to talk about Broads in polite company.

    Oh no!
I didn't notice it, I was ready to pull the trigger but 1.630 is too narrow for my hands. I have just asked confirmation to fender, hopefully it is an error.

    What a shame Fender.

Now are these gonna have a nice thin nitro finish or that nasty thick poly undercoat like the pre2012 AVRI and AO?
I'd be hotter than a griddle if I spent $2000 and got a thick poly coat under nitro.
I can't get myself to shell out that kind of money on a pre order. How do you know you're getting a decent weight? That'd be an big chunk of change for an 8 1/2 pound tele.

    Really?
    1 5/8 = 1.625
    1 21/32 = 1.656
    1 11/16 = 1.687

Even as spec'd those are incredibly small differences. And there are tolerances so they vary within spec.

By AO do you mean American Original? The finishes on the AO's that I've played have been quite thin. Nothing like the 2012 AVRI 52 I owned. Also seemingly not as brittle as my 2013 PV 52.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but it looks like it comes with the Josephina handwound Blackguard pickups? If so, that's kind of cool.
