we need some thin lizzy in there.
Doobies, Todd Rundgren, Thin Lizzy, and maybe Benatar.
Whitney Houston, Notorious B.I.G. and Rufus need to be off that list. I mean, they kinda are... but still... Not ROCK! Just like Motorhead is NOT going to be in the RAP Hall of Fame.
My vote (how many can you pick?) is (my five picks) The Doobie Brothers (why are they not in the RRHOF already?), Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy, Todd Rundgren and Motorhead.
The Michael McDonald years ruined the Doobies for me. Drove me straight into punk rock.
MC-effing-5, T. Rex, Motörhead, Rundgren, and Thin Lizzy.
Tull ain't IN?
Now THAT my Friends is a Joke.
Anyways Rolling Stone (it's their hall of fame - thank the Weiner Man) owns the dump so really who cares about the HOF?
They can Kiss My Axe.
WHAT??? Jethro Tull is not in the RRHOF??? Yeah, they can kiss mine too. OK, I want to write in Tull. NONE of those other bands nor ANY other band gets inducted until Jethro Tull. Geeeez....
For once I actually think a lot of these deserve to be there if such a thing must exist.
Who would I not vote for?
DMB. Just ugh.
Benatar. Just not a long enough period of popularity. I think she’s still active though.
Dépêche Mode. Borderline for me.
Doobies? I guess if Steve Miller is in, the Doobies should too, but there are more influential on the list. Points added for being one of the few bands to survive a lead singer change. Points removed for one of them being Michael McDonald.
Whitney, Notorious and Rufus don’t have anything to do with rock.
Soundgarden, again borderline to me, but add in Cornell’s other stuff and that might tip me over the edge.
Thin Lizzy. I like them a lot more than say, Kraftwerk, but they were a second tier band at least on this side of the pond. Not in terms of quality just that they were popular, but not huge, and really not that influential at the end of the day. I see them somewhere around Blue Oyster Cult status. Fairly popular, a classic rock classic song or two, but not quite enough for me to think they should be in. But others that achieved less are in, so ....
Those I haven’t mentioned. Should be in if my vote counted.
Luckily none of this really matters. Do those on the list even see a sales bump if they’ve nominated or voted in? I m doubtful.
That's it. I'm pulling my $18.75 outta the bank, moving to Sheboygan and opening the OHWHOF!
(One Hit Wonder Hall of Fame)
Who wants in?
Motörhead should’ve been in the hall of fame when the darn institution started (and that includes if the hall of fame started before Motörhead), along with the other two best RnR bands, Ramones and AC/DC.
But besides Motörhead’s long overdue nomination, T. Rex should be a shoe in as well as MC5.
But Dave Matthews is also on the list so that right there negates literally everything else ever.
I missed and important word. Collectively. That is all this nominees together might equal Todds talents and accomplishments. Todd was a rock star when he was a teen. And went solo, when no one went solo at a ridiculously young age. Really, he was right up there with the best guitarists of his time. He orchestrated, wrote lyrics, played a few instruments. In is vocal prime, he was an excellant vocalist. One of the best producers in the musical arena. One of the first to integrate computers and music in a big way. But really, he deserves the rnrhof for Something/Anything & A Wizard a True star. If you go to one of his shows, it is a show, always. Todd should have been in 10 years ago.
MOBY GRAPE fer godsakes!!!! what a pivotal band... the earliest of the "San Francisco sound". Jerry Miller is the killer guitar of the day... according to Eric Clapton. blew my mind totally... a huge influence
go get your Grape on! join the fight! Grape, Grape, Grape, Grape, Grape, !!!!!!!!
End of discussion.
motorhead better get in, or the hall of fame loses all relevance.
Finally- the Doobies.
I'll go with Todd Rundgren, mostly for producing Meatloaf's 'Bat Out Of Hell' album......and using my guitars on the Utopia Reunion Tour last year.
I’m not a Metalhead, but I like Judas Priest. You Got Another Thing Coming swallows and spits out everything Dave Matthews ever did.
The Doobies should be in for just China Grove alone.
I don't care who they let in, look at that list. The RRHOF is a bad joke.
Plus i'd have to watch TV to see it which is something i'm not willing to do.
And where is Sir Doug Sahm???
