I don't think it matters much who they induct in these days. I doubt many bother watching.
It's bored me since the first time I watched one. If a cool band wins I might search YouTube for the video of their performance but that's about it.

Me at the Atlanta Pop Fest I.

For the young folks there was a TV show called Shindig back in the Sixties, US version of England’s Top of the Pops.

They had a house band, the Shindogs, comprised of Delaney Bramlett (guitar/vocals), James Burton (guitar), Joey Cooper (bass) and Chuck Blackwell (drums).

    Shindig retrospective:

Bonnie is the only white girl to have been an Ikette.

D and B had a couple of guys tour with them, Eric Clapton and George Harrison.

Clapton’s Dominoes were plucked from the D and B band and played on Harrison’s All Things Must Pass.

Delaney produced Clapton’s first solo album among many.

Delaney and Bonnie had some great albums and a hit song.

What the hell else does it take to get in?

Trivia: from the Vanishing point movie

    J. Jessie Hovah's band (Severn Darden leaning against stage with singers Patrice Holloway, Rita Coolidge, Bonnie Bramlett holding daughter Bekka, unknown and Delaney Bramlett performing the song "You Got to Believe") in the 1971 film Vanishing Poin

Evey year, it becomes more obvious how rigged this thing is. The Doobies absolutely. Whitney Houston is right there with Donna Summer. No way. And the rapper? Give me a break. They should start calling it The P.C. Hall of Fame.

It's a fun place to go to, but taking the HOF seriously is something you can't do. That ended for me when Donna Summer was "voted" in. Whitney Houston and another rapper proveshow it really works.

Yeah, cause Whitney Houston and The Notorious B.I.G. were such enormous "ROCK N ROLLERS"....
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has been a FARCE for the last 20 or more years, you get in depending on of much money your Publicist has to spend and your "connections", and what direction the breeze of Politically Correct are blowing.

The name The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame should be forgotten and never mentioned again. :p
