Sounds good......... personally I'd want a maple neck, and I'd never pay 4K for a tele anyway LOL...

500K pots, according to Ron Thorn over on another forum:

"I’ve been using 500k and .047 which I believe is the values called out in the guitars they come in.
    I don’t feel they need 1 meg."

Oh, my. Thank you for sharing. I'm torn between adding up the "close enough" partscaster cost or adding up my available lines of credit for that exact guitar.

Had I ever seen this listed on a U.S. Dealer website I would have ordered immediately.

One disadvantage to those thinlines - single volume and tone controls. There is a myriad of tones to be had while mixing the pickups in different proportions.

As a web technologist, I don't feel Fender does a great job with their websites. I've personally missed out on certain models only to find them later online.

I have (kind of slowly) started to plan a Tele Custom style partscaster. Part of it's still in my head, some parts are already ordered and CuNiFe is already waiting in the treasure chest under the bed.

    So, it's like partly done..

E: Oh, and sorry. I didn't even realise I was on Custom Shop forum. Just trying to read everything about Wide Range pickups / Deluxe/Custom -type Teles :)

Can someone explain the allure of the CuNiFe humbuckers? Not trying to be contrary, but this CuNiFe thing is new to me.

Just my take, the originals have a unique sound. To my ears, the sound like a "cleaner" humbucker. The construction is somewhat different that a "regular" humbucker. For some reason, these haven't been reissued in with the original specs since 1980. The other guitarist in my band recently bought a '74 Tele Deluxe with them, and we geeked out when he got the guitar, playing through all our different amps. I fell in love with the richness of the mid/treble range, which reminds me of TV Jones PowerTrons.

Thank you! I think I could love a cleaner humbucker...

It sure sounds good... The playing doesn’t hurt either!
Jack has been doing every demo for Peach Guitars for several years, and it’s nice to see how his skills have risen.

Nice! That video does a good job of showcasing the sound of those WRHBs too.
