I’ll give you an estimate of the price tag up to this point:

    Guitar 199€
    Tuners 49€
    Control plate 20€
    2x pots 12€
    2x knobs 10,50€
    Jack 3€
Cap, solder, wiring, switch hat and screws, better pickups etc are on the house.

So adds up to 293,50€ give or take a penny. + new set of strings, not included.

So is it worth nearly 300€s? Yes. Definitely. My favourite noodling guitar. Plays quite nicely and has decent sounds.

And the most fun part has been stripping it down, exploring it and then try to make it work again.

Tele on the road! Waiting for a metro to get home from city center Helsinki. A pint of beer, warm summer evening and adequate guitar. Unfortunately no hat or case to collect money for me not playing.

Supposedly its poplar wood if Thomann's listing is to be believed.

    Thanks mate!

I recently saw somewhere that Affinity’s were being made more like a MIM in terms of size and it being strong through but all the music store websites I’ve seen haven’t changed. This was super helpful!

How does the neck compare to other Squiers? Say, the CV or the Bullets? Is it thicker or thinner?

Well, I haven’t got Bullet or CV. Had CGS-serial CV some years ago so I’m going with that and gut feeling. I think CSS-serial Affinity is quite similar to that CV in thickness. A bit more shoulder than CV, perhaps? Of course satin finish makes it smoother to play.

IMO it’s just quite ordinary C-neck, neither stick thin nor baseball bat.

Of course I could do some measuring and compare it with some other Teles. But the Affinity is at my workplace as an office guitar, so it might take a while.
