Yep we are talking small margins between what I envisage and a 51 Nocaster. But that is a Custom Shop guitar.

I think owning a '50 Broadcaster Reissue would be deeply cool. How could it not be?

They own the GUITAR department. The DRUM department, that also has the Broadcaster name rights,is owned by DW.

    Didn't know thank you.

No customers would confuse the two products, and they are spelled differently, so I'm sure they could have a chat and settle it like adults.

It would be very cool. I'm just thinking in practical terms. An AVRI '50 Broadcaster would be an AVRI '52 Telecaster with a decal and a Fender Broadcaster bridge pickup, like the one in the Baja 50s. The standard OV '52 neck pickup would be appropriate.

The decal would sell a hundred by itself. Gretsch would get some reflected publicity. Some collector would have a full set

It is a great idea. If I controlled both companies I would do it and send the OP one for good karma (I would keep #001 for myself though)

I don't know whether FMIC have people on this site, but ,sure, I'll take 001 from the first run as thanks for my idea.

Office I used to work in had a scanner you could enter your email in as a shortcut so you could be 001 etc and scan yourself quickly

I found out my assistant had begged IT to be inserted as 007... So I overruled him and got it for myself

Of course, like a true ****, I had no desire to have the number myself, and only did it to be a complete ****

Fender, if you are reading, let me have 001 and 007. Get some butch hairy guy out of the warehouse to ask the OP if he wants to receive 69, find out what he is made of

I will support your petition, as long as they bring out a lefty version ok? (small chance of that, but worth a go).

I don't see why they wouldn't if it's a replica. All Broadcasters started out as left-handed, but nearly all of them were routed to be right-handed, instead.

They did settle it like adults the last time Fender tried to use the name, Fender changed it to telecaster.

Fender Licences the name Gretsch but they don't own it and neither does Drum Workshop.
