The following builds are declared WINNERS in the 2014 Build Challenge:

    • Beginners Class: Onebean's Bubinga Thinline build
    • Vintage Reissue Class: motor_city_tele 2014 Build Challenge - Gilmour Workmate
    • Cabronita Class: ajr969's thinline la cab
    • Open Class: Jupiter's Scraptasticaster II: Unknown Jupiter
Congrats to all the winners. I'll be contacting each of you to learn your preference of a $200 gift certificate at Stewart-Macdonalds, Musician's Friend or Amazon.

PS. One unique factoid about this - every winner in the final round was also the number one vote getter in the semi-final round as well.

Wow... Thank you so much everyone! :D

Its quite an honor to have been selected as one of the winners, especially considering how great all the other guitars were in this year's challenge. Every one of them is a winner in its own right! Congrats to the other winners too, and to everyone who participated in the challenge.

Thanks to all the TDPRI members who make this such a great place, and thanks again to Paul and John for all the work they did in bringing the challenge to life this year!

    a big +1!

Congratulations to all of us who survived the Challenge. I feel very lucky to have won, given all the skill, creativity and hard work that went into all the other guitars, and especially considering how close the voting was. I went into the Challenge with no expectation of even making it to the Finals; and it's embarrassing to admit now how many times I hit "reload" on the poll results thread.

Thanks a ton to everybody who helped make the 2014 Build Challenge so much fun.

Now I feel like I need to go up to the Temple and flip a thousand yen into ol' Daruma-san's collection box....

Congrats to the winners, as well as everyone who entered the Challenge this time around. Remember too, for each of us members following your builds, lots of 'non-members' have been watching things also. My old bass player who now lives in Florida would call and say "Did you see blah blah". He's never owned a Tele ;) Fascinating, the craft you all perform.

Well done Onebean, motor_city_tele, ajr969, and Jupiter!!

Voting was very tough again this year. Lots of amazing guitars,
and I learned a lot, too.
