I keep getting parts that is not up to the standard I want for this challenge. Problem is, that it is special parts, that only are found in US or China. Rarely in Europe. So I am getting worried that I will get in trouble because they are not here in time... Most of the parts have delivery time between 10-14 days, but several of them have taken more than that by now.

    Anybody else have that problem?

Shipping from the US to Japan is usually pretty snappy--once they get the stuff out the door. Now that you mention it, though, I do have a package that oughta be here about now.... Now you got me worryin'!

Just 1? I have 8 + several parts I need to reorder because of quality issues :) So this is going to be tight - and thats just the parts factor :)

Yep. Nearly every time I fill my cart and go to checkout, I delete and go somewhere else. The shipping is crazy, and they are always out of one or two things I need, so guess what that means. More shipping.

I ordered a fretboard (for my template), a jack plate, a toggle switch and a couple other things from stewmac--definitely bigger and heavier than two pieces of flatwork and 6 A5 slugs--and the shipping was 1/3 of what mojotone charged me....

I LOVE what they have in stock there, and the e-mails I got were friendly and enthusiastic, but I just can't make myself feel good about an order where 3/4 of the cost was shipping. If I order stuff from them again, it'll have to be in the summer while I'm in the States.

Try Wilkinson parts, they're not bad at all and on ebay even cheaper.

A common mistake but to get the genuine old school blues tone you need to use the one and only Howlin' Wolf approved drain cleaner.

Just had a similar thing myself. Got my parts from a supplier (not Stewmac or Mojotone) and realised there were a few other things I really should have got. The postage was about 3/4 of the cost of the parts. It would have been cheaper if it went a slower way. Trouble is, slower could be really slow, which defeats the purpose. It was a really tough decision to go ahead and do it. I'll not make that mistake again.

Does it also have to do with hydrogen peroxide and vinegar?

Guess it is panic time now. I just ordered the pickups. Spend a lot more money than I usually do... And I get a reply:

"Sorry we dont have these in stock. We can order them 15th March and it will take 4 weeks to get here"

6 weeks delivery time. I might have to cancel the idea of TV Jones Bass pickups... Nobody here in Europe seems to have them in stock

Do they need to be bass pickups? Some companies such as Rickenbacker used to use identical pickups for guitars and basses. You should be fine provided the strings don't fall outside the slug width.

Well the style I am looking for, means that on a bass you will see 4 rods - and on a guitar 6. So using 6 on a 4 string, will not look right. Thats the problem :)

Only other company that makes bass pickups are Gretch, but they get very mixed reviews. Thats my second problem...

Time to get my panic meter down again. Found a place in UK that can have 1 Tv Jones PU in 10 days. I am hoping a little bit sooner but if not, that will do. I did get some other parts, so that is good. Will still have something to do next week - besides moving to my new house...
