Yep, Fender is very responsive to serial number requests for info. If it's Custom Shop, you can get COA and Floor Traveller sheets as well.

I was surprised when I contacted them about my '05 AVRI 52. They couldn't find it in their system. Then someone told me that Fender re-did their database at some point, so I guess that explains it. I don't have any other older Fenders with which to test it.

That’s too bad, I’m sorry you weren’t able to get the info.

Well, I figured out what I needed to know. Once I received it, I yanked the neck, and that had some dates I wanted. I usually want that info pre-sale.

Just a bit of an update, I’m having my tele stripped and repainted. It has a polyester sealer and I want that gone. I’m getting a nitro sealer and staying with the butterscotch blonde and then nitro lacquer. I’ll post pictures when I receive the guitar. I’m thinking about putting nitro on the pick guard as well. Thoughts.....

Also I know I have a 52 tele reissue but I was thinking about putting 51 nocaster custom shop pickups in mine. What do y’all think about those pickups.

I haven't used those pickups, but I've heard nothing but good things about them. Watch out, though; the moment you say you're going to change the pickups, everyone will chime in and tell you why their personal favorites are better!

When you do the aging/relicing, start a new thread in the Finely Finished section and document it! The kids will love it!

The body has been stripped removing the poly sealer, butterscotch blonde pant and nitro. Will post more pics after the guitar has been refinished. Not sure what I want to do as far as “aging” goes. When I am done I will repost this whole experience in the finely finished forum.

Wow... how’d you get that thing so clean? It almost looks like it’s never been painted.

Now it is off with another one of my friends getting prepped for paint. I told him to take his time so it is done right. I’m not going full on butterscotch. Just a touch of amber patina over the blonde. He is gonna put a light coat of lacquer on my pickguard as well. I decided to stick with the 52 pick ups that are in it.

Yea I can’t wait to get it back. I’m trying to be patient, but it’s tough. I know he is gonna do a great job with the paint and stuff. It’s just killing me to know it’s not here at home.

A friend of mine loaned me a copy of the blackguard book. It’s like tele porn. If anyone knows where I can get a copy please let me know. I did find a forum on here where it was said that the author had more copies for sale but that thread was 3 years old. I do understand that the author was a member of tdrpi, not sure what his handle is or a way contact him. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It's a GREAT book. I've spent too many hours pouring over it! LOL.
I don't have his address, but the author is Nacho Banos. He has a facebook page. and I think a website for his guitars. You might search Nacho Guitars.
    Good luck!

Here is a couple of pics, one is of my guitar being filled and the other is the what it looked like after he wiped the rest of the filler off. He sealed it over the weekend I’m just waiting on a picture of that as well.
